Variable Substitution

Introduction

Variable substitution provides users the ability to substitute variables with information about a Process Definition or Process Instance and send them to various features provided by TrustX including Custom Forms, Webhooks, emails, and Redirect URLs.

This document will describe the general structure, breaking down each component of the JSON path expression when performing variable substitution.

Custom Form and Cloud Functions

The example in this section will demonstrate how data from a Cloud Function can be received and used as input to populate the default values of a Custom Form. Two example will be provided that show the results when a string is returned and when an array is returned from the Cloud Function.
